PointMe is leveraging advanced video and screen sharing technologies to provide seamless, web-based, “show me how” experience, with a rare blend of simplicity, performance and reliability. The service is unique in various aspects: (a) asymmetrical experience, allowing the expert to drive the session with simple and intuitive user experience , (b) web start (no client is needed to start a session), (c) integrated video experience, (d) integrated phone view, allowing simple “show me how” support over Android and iOS devices and apps.
The PointMe app supports advanced "show me how" scenarios, by enabling a trusted expert to point while screen sharing and showing the counterparty how to use third party websites and apps.
The service was created during the Covid 19 (Corona) lockdown days, responding to the need of keeping in touch with our elderly loved-ones and assisting them to digitally adapt to forced isolation (e.g. shop online). We looked for an elegant way to provide a simple and warm “show me how” guidance that will overcome distance via a video call, but keep a simple and intuitive experience for non tech savvy users. Existing tools were not appropriate. Zoom, Hangouts, Skype and video conferencing tools are focused on conferencing and remote presentations. Not on the 1:1 assisted support scenarios. Remote takeover tools such as TeamViewer or Google Remote Desktop have tech savvy orientation and are not sufficiently simple and intuitive for less tech savvy users.
